NHP, specialists in power distribution, motor control and automation systems, has expanded its longstanding relationship with Socomec, a leading global manufacturer of electrical equipment with strong expertise in critical energy and power switching applications.
After 20 years as the local distributor for Socomec’s power control and safety range, NHP has entered into an exclusive distribution partnership with Socomec for its energy management portfolio in New Zealand and Australia.
NHP’s Marketing Manager – Customer & Channels, Daniel Hillhouse, says Socomec’s energy management line is a natural fit which enhances NHP’s existing power distribution portfolio.
“By expanding our partnership with Socomec, we can provide enhanced connectivity utilising latest technology tailored for the local New Zealand and Australian markets. This expanded partnership will bring additional growth opportunities for both organisations as we move towards a more energy efficient and sustainable future,” he said.
The expanded distribution partnership will become effective from 1 January 2025.

Increasing demand for energy management solutions
“With both New Zealand and Australia focusing on building sustainability, energy management solutions are becoming increasingly sought after by companies looking to meet ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) targets and other regulations,” says Fraser.
“You have Green Star building ratings, NABERS NZ and EECA requirements, and different government regulations, all demanding more sustainable building usage.” he says.
“These energy monitoring requirements made this extension of our partnership particularly appealing,” says Hillhouse. “NHP is already at the forefront with technologies to automate production and control power and now with the expanded offering from Socomec surrounding energy monitoring solutions, NHP is now well placed to provide our customers with end-to-end solutions which meet their needs now and into the future.”
