New robot safety standard drafts now open for public comment

The new safety standard drafts for robot cells are now available for public comment. The number of standards has increased from one to three which represents the growth of robotic applications in industry.

For your convenience we have listed the drafts and voting links below. Please note you will need to have a Standards Australia account to access the documents.

  • AS 4024.3301 has been updated, this standard has limited relevance in Australia as our industries don’t build robots

  • AS 4024.3302 is a NEW standard, this standard provides guidance on how to protect a robot system in a cell, this is more relevant for the Australian industry

  • AS 4024.3303 is a NEW standard, this standard provides guidance on how safety is achieved on collaborative robots, these robots will increase in use over the next few years in Australia
